Springfield Testimonies May 2008

Over the last few weeks God has been at work in power all over the world.  He has also been at work in power in Telford and within the lives of people at Springfield Christian Fellowship.  Here are some of the testimonies that have been shared in the meetings recently.  Read them and rejoice in what God is doing.  Be open to all that He may want to do in and through you too!

18th May

Mike: This week I had to go down to the builder’s yard to get some bits and pieces and one of the lads at the builders yard came out and he was hobbling like this and so immediately I thought oh and I said “come here” and I looked at his badge “Dave.  I really believe that you can be healed, what’s the matter?” So he told me about the accident that he had a few years ago. So I said to him “Do you want to be healed now in Jesus’ name?” and he said

“woah, I don’t know, it’s all about what you believe.” So I said, “well I believe” and he said “oh, I’m not sure, it’s very personal stuff.”  I said “in the name of Jesus be healed” and then I went and paid for the timber and stuff.  But what happened was when I came out I was expecting him to be dancing about and he wasn’t but he then started to tell me about his family and about all sorts of things. You see the main fear we have is that he was still hobbling and that’s fine, I don’t worry about that.  But the main fear we have is that we’re going out and we pray for somebody, they may not like us any more because we’re so conditioned to be liked and actually Dave proved that that’s not the case.  Dave was quite happy for me to pray for him, he was probably thinking things through in his head, that didn’t matter and I came away encouraged, not discouraged.  We are not going to make enemies – the only enemy we are going to make is the enemy.

Pat: Last Sunday I was prayed for because I’d got a bad knee.  Helen asked for the left knee but mine was on the right.  I came out to be prayed for and I’d had this pain in my knee and I couldn’t put my knee up and it was very awkward to get up and down stairs – it took me ages to get up and down stairs.  God healed me on Sunday!

Neil: I shared last week that over the last 4 years I’ve lost one of my sisters, one of my brothers and now my mum has cancer and I felt as if death was pursuing me.  Over this week I have just sensed God saying that no longer will destruction follow you. I’ve felt so free.  On Friday night someone came up to me and put a first class stamp on me and it just broke. I just praise God that what’s happening to my family, the destruction and the death is not what God’s got for me.  God’s got better things for me.  So I just want to praise God for that this morning.

25 May

Mark: Last weekend Susie and I and Mike and Sue went to Bridport and  we had a meeting on the Saturday night and we were just there worshipping and there was a bit of a kafuffle and somebody came to the front, she was brought to the front, and she said “well, I came here with two crutches, sticks and God’s healed me, look at this!” She was just healed in the worship, we hadn’t done anything, God’s like that isn’t He? I just love Him so much.  He says, move over, I’m doing this stuff, you’re not.  And this lady, we stayed with her afterwards and I can tell you she is completely healed.  Medically they said there is no chance of it ever happening and whatever God needed to do He sorted out her spine, she had no pain, she virtually ran to the top of a flight of stairs in her house and she’d not even been able to get up there without sticks before.  Over the last 17 years she’s been crippled and she’s had operations but that had gone as far as it could go and they couldn’t get it any better.  God did it just in the worship without us laying hands on her.  I thought that was quite good really!!

We had lots of good things happening.  One guy I prayed with had been nowhere with God and he just happened to come to the meeting and God met him.  He was in tears, he was in bits, he was crying out, he was repenting of all kinds of stuff and getting himself right with God. That was wonderful and a lot of other people were really touched by the power of God.  It was an excellent weekend.

Vanessa: I lifted David up last Sunday thinking hey, I’m strong and as I put him down something sort of went in my back.  It was ok that day but then the next morning it sort of twinged a bit and as the day went on it just got worse and worse and I was struggling to drive and to sit up and I thought oh no.  I’ve done this before and it’s taken several weeks and it’s really awful, you know you can’t watch TV because you have to prop yourself up and you can’t drive and that.  I saw Tam on Monday night and she just put her hand near where she felt it was and there was immense heat in the shape of a cassette and it was like God had put a patch on my back.  The heat was so strong she could feel it from right back there and it was like it was almost going to come through the front. Within about an hour I was completely fine, I drove home with no trouble at all.

I give glory to God but can I just say that seeing Ana here – you didn’t see her when she was ill and part of me when Tam prayed for me was thinking of Ana.  She’d been stretched out not able to move and it’s just incredible to see you here today and to see you on the stage and singing and that smile it’s brilliant – praise God! I was coming in faith on the back of that really.

Kim: A couple of weeks ago a friend asked me if I could pray for her brother.  He’d taken 250 paracetamol and his liver was damaged and they’d given him a few days to live and he’s out of hospital now and he’s completely healed!  I didn’t go and see him, I just prayed and he’s completely healed.  He was in Birmingham hospital and apparently the doctors have said they’ve never ever seen anything like it and they’ve never seen a recovery like it so I was quite surprised really!!
